The Essential English Centre offers a range of facilities which include spacious classrooms equipped with Smart TVs and several relaxation and study areas for students – the perfect setting in which to learn and achieve. What’s more, the school is set within a building of special architectural and historic interest on the prestigious Portland Street in the heart of Manchester city centre. Our school occupies the second floor with our main school office located on the first floor of the multiple-occupancy premises.

Spacious classrooms

All of our classrooms are bright and spacious and provide the perfect environment for learning. Students benefit from comfortable seating and large table desks which provide comfort and space for students during lessons. Throughout the year we offer 9-11 classrooms for our lessons.

Student Room

This is an area where you can eat, socialise, chat together and play games. The student room offers a comfortable area to relax during lesson breaks and before and after your lesson. Here you will also find information about the weekly social programme.

Free and Fast Wi-Fi

Take advantage of the free Wi-Fi, use the internet in the student study area or roam freely on your mobile or tablet throughout the school.

Refreshment Area

Here you can access free, chilled water and relax and enjoy a break from your lessons.

Student Reception

At our student reception you can get help and support with accommodation, travel and the general day to day challenges you may face when moving to a new city. We are here to support you on your journey and are more than happy to help you.

Smart TV’s

All of our classrooms are equipped with Smart TV’s which teachers use to offer stimulating and interactive digital learning materials for students. Using a variety of teaching materials ensures we deliver interesting and engaging lessons.

Prayer facilities

We have a designated room ( and prayer mats) available for students during school hours.

Student Kitchen

If you wish to eat breakfast or lunch in school, students benefit from their own student kitchen, with a microwave, fridge and all normal kitchen utensils.
