What is Bildungsurlaub Educational Leave?
Several states in Germany offer workers an allocated number of days to pursue further training or education and The Essential English Centre is proud to be an approved centre for many states.
- Choose to study for 1 week or 2 weeks
- Students must be 18+
What can I study?
Students who qualify for the approval can choose to study for 1 week or 2 weeks. The number of hours you must study depends on which state you are from. Bildungsurlaub approved English language courses at The Essential English Centre are either 22.5 hours/30 lessons or 30 hours/40 lessons per week
Courses available are:
- General English Intensive
- General English + Workplace English Intensive
- General English + Exam Preparation Intensive (IELTS or Cambridge First / Cambridge Advanced)
Additional Extras
Students can also choose from the following add-ons as part of their package:
- Accommodation: homestay (self-catering student residence is available for a minimum 4 weeks’ stay)
- Airport pick-up
- Insurance
Which states are approved?
· Berlin – 22.5 hours per week
· Brandenburg – 22.5 hours per week
· Bremen – 22.5 hours per week
· Hamburg – 22.5 hours per week
· Hessen – Students must study for 30 hours per week to meet the requirements of the approval
· Niedersachsen – Students must study for 30 hours per week to meet the requirements of the approval
· Rheinland-Pfalz – 22.5 hours per week
· Saxony-Anhalt – 22.5 hours per week
· Schleswig-Holstein – 22.5 hours per week
