This month we are shining the spotlight on Spinningfields, a must-see area of Manchester city centre. We highly recommend it to our students and to everyone who visits Manchester.
Spinningfields is an area to the north of the city centre of Manchester and is a popular place for working, shopping, dining and entertainment. It is home to many of the financial institutions in Manchester and is known for its sense of elegance, both in terms of design and due to the many popular shops and restaurants that line the pedestrianised streets.

Throughout the year, Spinningfields hosts many festivals, offering something for everyone. It hosts the Manchester Jazz festival, as well as several food and music festivals. One of our more recent favourites is the opportunity to take a photo selfie with Paddington on his bench!
John Rylands library is also located in Spinningfields and is a popular tourist attraction in Manchester. Its beautiful, late Victorian Neo-gothic building is a must-see! The library belongs to Manchester University and holds many important collections.

Screenfields in Manchester is England’s only open air cinema and during the summer months many students and locals enjoy sitting amongst the impressive buildings and watching a film and eating popcorn.

Spinningfields is a short 10 minute walk from our school and we encourage everyone to visit, to enjoy the many offerings throughout the year!
