Manchester offers many fantastic parks and green spaces, providing the perfect opportunity to escape the bustling city and to get a breath of fresh air.

Whitworth Park

Conveniently located near Oxford Road and close to our school, this park offers a lovely blend of green space and culture, being home to the renowned Whitworth Art Gallery. Perfect for playing sport with your classmates or a post-class stroll and a coffee.

Heaton Park

Heaton Park is one of Europe’s largest municipal parks. Just a 20 minute tram ride from the city centre, you could easily spend an entire day here, exploring the historic Heaton Hall, enjoying a leisurely boat ride on the lake, or trying your hand at a round of golf. There’s also an animal centre, charming gardens, and endless paths for walking, cycling, or simply finding a quiet spot to relax. Plus, it’s super easy to get to, with its own Metrolink station.

Fletcher Moss Botanical Garden

Located in the leafy suburb of Didsbury, Fletcher Moss Botanical Garden is a beautiful space. This tranquil spot is a blend of well maintained botanical gardens, serene woodland walks, and picturesque riverside trails along the River Mersey. It’s a fantastic place for a peaceful stroll, to admire the diverse plant life, or even spot some local wildlife. Don’t forget to grab a coffee or ice cream at the on-site cafe!

Alexandra Park

After a multi-million-pound restoration, it boasts wide-open green spaces, a serene lake, and excellent sports facilities, including cricket pitches and floodlit tennis courts. It’s a wonderful example of urban parkland evolving to meet modern community needs.

• Platt Fields Park: A popular spot for events and community gatherings, Platt Fields boasts a large lake and beautiful gardens. It’s a lively park with a strong community feel.
• Didsbury Park: Another Didsbury favourite, this Green Flag awarded park is great for families with a children’s play area, football pitch, and a charming cafe.
