Alumni film success – Manchester!

We were delighted recently when ex-student Pol Barrelet from Switzerland contacted us to tell us he was returning to Manchester to showcase his new film!

Pol studied on our General English Intensive course and is a Director, Screenwriter, Composer, Editor and Sound Designer and was invited to showcase his new film ‘Leave the Hive’ at Manchester Film Festival this year. The film centres around Mila, who is tired of living in her small town and dreams of going elsewhere. But leaving everything behind means even her closest friends.

‘Leave the Hive’ was written and directed by ex-student, Pol Barrelet and was selected for the Manchester Film Festival 2025.

We are extremely proud of Pol’s achievements and thrilled that he has returned to Manchester, where his passion and talent has been recognised!

Manchester Film Festival takes place in March each year and is a celebration of the best new and independent films, showcasing these over 10 days at various locations across Manchester.
