Visas
Do you need a Visa?
The Essential English Centre accepts students from many countries around the world to study on English language programmes of up to 44 weeks. We are not qualified to give expert advice to individual students regarding visa requirements, however, the UK government website offers a visa checking tool which can give you up to date information about the visa requirements that apply to you https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa.
If you require documents from the school to support your visa application, we will charge £55 for these documents (non refundable)
Our school is accredited by The British Council for the Teaching of English and where a student is eligible, we may be able to assist with the application for a short-term study visa of up to 44 weeks per year.
How we help you to apply for your Short Term Study Visa
When you book and pay for your course we will provide you with a stamped ‘Letter of Acceptance’. This can be used when applying for your visa as confirmation of your place on the course. It is your responsibility to ensure that you allow sufficient time for your visa to be processed before your course start date.
Health Surcharge
You might need to pay a healthcare surcharge (called the ‘immigration health surcharge’ or IHS) as part of your visa application. Whether you need to pay depends on the visa you’re applying for. You can find up to date information here
