Travelling in Manchester is easy! Manchester’s public transport system is excellent, with bus, rail and tram networks operating very frequently and at reasonable costs. The Essential English Centre is located in the city centre (Portland Street), which makes it very easy to travel to school and home again every day. If you are studying with us for a longer period of time, consider buying monthly, or longer-term bus, train or tram travel passes to benefit from lower prices.

There is a tram station inside Manchester Airport. Please follow the ‘The Station’ sign. You can reach Manchester City Centre within 50 minutes. 

Bus

There is a bus station inside Manchester Airport. Please follow the ‘The Station’ sign. You can expect to arrive in the city centre within 1.5 hours (the journey time depends on time of day.
